'Relief' for Spalding residents as new road will go through industrial site

Spalding residents will be celebrating today as the county council ruling Executive has opted for a relief road route that doesn't see homes their demolished.

Nine homes on Bourne Road were threatened with bulldozers by the original proposed route of the middle section of the £100million road.

But last month the council Highways and Transport Scrutiny Committee recommended the route should go through an industrial site - now occupied by Trojan Wood.
