Relocation of Spalding Register Office from Bath Lane to South Holland District Council offices gets started

Work is starting on the relocation of Spalding Register Office from Bath Lane, off High Street, to Priory Road.

The registration centre for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships will soon be based at South Holland District Council's offices, with hopes that it will be ready to welcome customers as soon as December.

Planning permission for the move was granted by the district council in June after it was announced that Lincolnshire County Council's lease of the Bath Lane was coming to an end.

"It is important that we continue to offer a personal and professional service during these important events in people's lives."

Work on the new register office comes less than 18 months after Spalding's Jobcentre Plus office made a similar move from Westlode Street to Priory Road.
