Spalding councillor Angela is so committed

By Spalding Today Letters

May I, through your column, express my thanks and gratitude to Coun Angela Newton who yet again proved that she is committed to looking after the interests of the people of Spalding.

I contacted Angela recently about two “grot spots” in the Wygate ward, to which she responded immediately.

One area was the roundabout in Bluebell Close which was overgrown with thistles and nettles about three feet high. Within two working days of Angela’s email, complete with photographs, the council had mown it and cleared away the mess.

The other area which we are currently battling with is a piece of land at the bottom of Two Plank Lane which is owned by a large local house builder. It is a pity the their land is not kept as tidy as their building sites.

It is comforting to know that we can call on Coun Newton despite the fact it is not her ward. She always listens, and then takes action. A bit different to others who keep reminding us how good they are, without any tangible evidence to support it.
