A17 Sutton Bridge: Cross Keys lane closure begins tomorrow

Traffic queues will return to the A17 tomorrow when resurfacing work resumes at Cross Keys Bridge.

Lincolnshire County Council says "the lane closure should be in place from around 7-7.30am tomorrow".

The westbound carriageway has already been resurfaced but work on the eastbound side ground to a halt because a supply problem meant there were no materials for workmen to complete the job.

That meant the county council reopened both lanes on Friday, October 4 just five days after the £100,000 works began.

During the single-lane closure there were heavy queues on the Lincolnshire and Norfolk sides of the bridge, as well as in Bridge Road, Sutton Bridge, and on the diversion route via Wisbech.

Despite delays in the project, the county council has said the work will be completed by the original target date of Friday, October 25.
