SPALDING Grammar School pupils will be able to parade the latest fashions for lessons for a day later this year in support of a number of local charities.
The school is the latest organisation to pledge to hold a fundraising event during May 14-21 in aid of Two Lips.
The Rotary Club of Spalding is calling for everyone in the community to hold a charity event throughout the week in aid of a number of charities which have been specially selected for the work they do locally.
It’s hoped £10,000 can be raised for Spalding’s Phab, the League of Friends of the Spalding Hospitals, the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Scouts and Guides.
Donations have already started coming in, with more than £4,000 already in the kitty, including £2,000 from the staff at Bakkavor.
Accountancy firm Bulley Davey has also offered to sponsor trays for the Two Lips whistles that will be on sale throughout the week.
Rotary Club of Spalding president Alan Porter said: “Thank you to those who have already pledged to support us and we wish them every success with their event.
“We want to get the community behind us for that week. We’re now going all out to get the public’s support.”
To join in with the Two Lips charity week, all you need is to tell the organisers what you’re planning and when it will happen.
Simply pick up a registration form from any Rotary Club of Spalding member or from the Spalding Guardian and Lincolnshire Free Press offices in The Crescent, Spalding.
