A CIVIC reception said “Willkommen” to a group of 22 German exchange students at Spalding Grammar School.
The pupils from a co-ed grammar school in Speyer were back to stay with Spalding families whose children had stayed with them last summer.
They spent eight days in South Holland, including a morning in a classroom at the grammar school and a host of other visits, organised by exchange co-ordinator David Jones.
Grammar School German teacher Jon Blackbourn said: “This continues a long, rich relationship between the grammar school and Speyer, made easier today by cheap air travel.
“It once involved minibus journeys with 24 hours on the road.”
