Spurred on by the success of his first film made in South Holland, actor and director Steph Genovese is preparing to start work on his second.

After premiering Dishonoured earlier this year, the Holbeach resident is following up the project with a self-penned rom-com. The film – which has the working title Forever Your Rose – revolves around a multi-millionaire who has everything – except someone special in his life.

Casting for the movie, to be set in Spalding, Holbeach and Fleet as well as Cornwall and London, is due to begin shortly.

Steph, who is currently reprising the role of Jurgen in Sky’s Fortitude, also hopes to film some opening sequences at 10 Downing Street.

“As with Dishonoured, we will publish all the roles which we need filling and want to welcome everyone to come and try out for these parts.

“We will also be looking to bring on more crew, so anyone who wants to get involved behind the cameras, we shall have opportunities, and hope the success of Dishonoured will bring lots more new people into the film industry,” says Steph, who will play the lead role Jack Green.

Forever Your Rose follows Jack, a highly intelligent character who has no clue about relationships.

“He only takes advice from his sponging house mate, who unintentionally gives him poor advice, and his oldest and closest friend Rose, who offers him advice on what girls really want. When you mix their advice up, you end up with some hilarious moments,” adds Steph.

As with Dishonoured, everyone involved in the film will be giving their time free of charge, and Steph hopes the movie will help encourage more people to get involved in the local movie industry.

“Making films comes at a price, so we’re looking for investors. We’re also on the look-out for specific film locations including mansions, nightclubs and pubs, apartments as well as some luxurious cars – such as Rollers, Bentleys and Astons – to feature in the movie, maybe even a jet plane, to highlight the main character’s wealth.

“If anyone can help us out with any of these items, we would love to hear from them.”

If all goes to schedule casting will take place at the end of the month, with filming beginning in April.
