Lincolnshire County Council say they have solved problem puddle in South Street, Bourne

Engineers say they have resolved the problem which was causing a giant puddle to cover a pedestrian crossing.

Traders in South Street, Bourne, were concerned that an accident was going to happen as people were no longer using the crossing because of the puddle, which had been causing problems for a year.

Lee Black, who owns Modnink, tried to highlight the issue by placing rubber ducks and even fishing gnomes on the puddle.

Lincolnshire County Council's Highways team have visited the area.

Coun Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "Crews visited South Street in Bourne last week and thoroughly cleared all the gullies and the main drain.

"This appears to have solved the drainage issue in the area now, and we're working with our partners to ensure the drains and gullies remain clear to prevent the problem reoccurring."
