Power cut affects shops and businesses in Spalding




A power cut in Spalding has nearly 1,000 homes and businesses without electricity this lunchtime.

Engineers are working to repair what a spokesman for Western Power Distribution described as a "network fault" which happened just before 12.20pm today (Tuesday).

The spokesman said: "A power cut, as a result of a network fault, was reported to us at 12.19pm.

"It affected 2,122 customers and of these, 1,150 had their power supply restored within a minute.

"Engineers are now on their way to investigate the cause of the fault, but we expect the remaining customers to be back on by 2pm at the latest."
