Storm Freya causes Spalding power cut and brings down tree in Pinchbeck

South Holland seems to have avoided the worst effects of Storm Freya, which battered the UK over the weekend.

Businesses, homes and shops were hit by a power cut on Saturday afternoon and the only incident of damage reported was a tree down in Pinchbeck last night (Sunday).

Police said Northgate was passable with care.

Winds will be at about 20mph for the next two or three days.
