West Pinchbeck pony rescued from swimming pool with hay bales

Hay bales were used to help rescue a pony which was stuck in an empty swimming pool.

The pony, which had wandered a distance from its home, was found stuck in disused swimming pool at a home in Tydd Road, West Pinchbeck, just before 5pm yesterday (Tuesday, October 8).

Firefighters from Spalding and Donington, who are a specialist animal rescue team, were supported by a farmer in rescuing the pony.

They used hay bales to make a ramp and also used rope equipment to help the pony out of the pool.

The pony is fine and firefighters have thanked the farmer for his help.
