Renewed appeal after woman died in road accident

Police have issued a further appeal aftger a fatal collision in Kirton on Saturday, August 25.

Officers are asking for anyone who was walking in the area of London Road, Kirton (B1397) at around 9.15pm on that day to get in contact if they witnessed the collision.

Previously: A woman has died following a car crash in Kirton last night (Saturday).

Emergency services were called at around 9.40pm to the B1397 London Road, where a red Suzuki Wagon had been in collision with a blue Ford Focus.

Sadly, the driver of the Suzuki, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger in the Suzuki, a man in his late 60s, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham, where he is detained with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Focus was taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, also with serious injuries.

All are believed to be local.

The road was re-opened during the night after the initial investigation was completed.The police would like to hear from anyone who was on the B1397 from around 9.15 last evening and saw either the red Suzuki Wagon or the blue Ford Focus before the collision or saw the collision itself to contact them via 101, quoting reference Incident 443 of 25th August.
