Police have increased patrols in Donington after series of thefts
Police officers have increased patrols in Donington following a string of thefts from vehicles.
South Holland Police say they are working hard to identify the people involved but have appealed to residents to ensure their vehicles and property is secure.
Yesterday we reported that Donington parish councillor Lizzie Wray is calling for a greater police presence in the town to combat a series of problems.
A South Holland Police social media post states: "We are aware of a recent series of thefts from motor vehicles in the Donington area.
"We are kindly asking that residents in the area ensure their vehicles are kept secure and any valuable items in gardens, outbuildings etc are also secured.
"We are working hard to identify those persons involved and patrols in the area have been increased.
"We welcome any information relating to the thefts. Please contact Police via 101, or use the private message option in the Facebook and Next Door applications. Similarly you can provide information anonymously via the Crime Stoppers website. Always call 999 in an emergency or if a theft is in progress. "
