South Holland police issue warning about bank scams

South Holland police have issued a warning against scammers who are pretending to be officers.

The force has received several reports from older and vulnerable residents of scammers trying to get their bank details.

A spokesman said: "We are receiving several reports from residents in South Holland whereby persons are portraying themselves as Police in order to obtain banking details. The offenders are predominantly targetting elderly and vulnerable persons.

"The Police will never telephone you and ask for banking details. If you receive a call of this nature please hang up and report it to our Force Control Room via 101."
