Six youngsters taken home by transport police after reports of trespassers on the railway line in Spalding

Two trains were stuck in Spalding for several minutes on Thursday evening after reports of trespassers on the railway line.

A passenger train was stuck at the Raceground level crossing in Little London, while a freight train was stuck at the station, after reports of people on the line.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Spalding station at 5.48pm following reports of a group of youths on a footbridge.

"Officers quickly attended and six young people were taken home to their parents and issued with strong words of advice."
