The men and machines who work often on cold winter evenings to grit the roads of Lincolnshire in frosty weather have been blessed in annual ceremonies across the county.

The local ceremony took place recently at the Pode Hole Depot of the Highways Department, led by Rev Ian Walters, vicar of Gosberton and by the local community chaplain, Rev William Ruddle.

Also in the picture are the Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council William Webb together with local councillors, Chairman of Churches Together in Spalding, Rev Steve Weatherly Barton, and gritter drivers and colleagues.
