Holbeach sausage factory could become new homes
A former sausage factory could be transformed into eight new homes under new plans.
Mr and Mrs Swepstone are hoping to convert former Swepstone Pie and Sausage Manufacturing factory and offices in Battlefields Lane North, Holbeach.
After 58 years, the couple decided to retire and the site has stood empty for two years after their attempts to find a new buyer were unsuccessful.
- Two remanded in custody for attempted murder
- Firefighters cordon off area
- Shambles rap over potholes
The planning statement says: "This application proposes the change of use and sub-division of the factory into five three bedroom houses.
"Each house would consist of turee double bedrooms, one located on the ground floor and the other two on a mezzanine floor. Dormer windows are proposed on the mezzanine floor to the front and rear ensuring plenty of useable space and height within the bedrooms. Light tubes would also be used, to provide natural light to the central part of the ground floor living spaces."
It is also proposed to convert the office into three bedroom homes.
The application adds: "These proposals would provide a positive use for a vacant site. The proposed conversion would enhance the appearance of the buildings."
