Plans have been drawn up for 33 new homes to be built beside High Road in Whaplode.
The main site is an agricultural field although it includes part of the back garden of number 355 High Road, which lies on the western edge of the village between two side roads, Kirk Gate and Hockney Hole Lane.
Developer Haycroft Homes Ltd is seeking planning consent to build six one-bedroom bungalows, 11 two-bedroom houses, six three-bedroom houses with integral garages, four three-bedroom bungalows with garages and six four-bedroom houses with integral double garages.
A design and access statement submitted to South Holland District Council says a viability report will be submitted later detailing the applicant’s affordable housing contribution.
It says the homes reflect the “traditional rural houses and agricultural buildings of the South Holland area” and the site is only a five-ten minute walk from the centre of Whaplode, fronting on to a stretch of road with a 30mph limit.
