40 bags of waste and a sofa collected from side of the A16

Council workers collected a sofa and more than 40 bin bags full of rubbish from the side of the A16 in Crowland yesterday.

South Holland District Council sent a team litter picking along the side of the main road to collect rubbish thrown away by passing motorists.

They shared a picture of their haul - and urged drivers to do their bit to keep the district clean by taking their waste with them.

The team covered a two-mile stretch around Crowland - and will be heading out to cover further stretches along the A16 towards Spalding in the coming weeks.
