PICTURE GALLERY: Peele Community College, Long Sutton, presents its Christmas production of High School Musical

Students at Long Sutton’s Peele Community College swapped the classroom for the stage to take part in the school’s Christmas production during the week.

High School Musical, the story of how a talented sportsman and high-flying student form a friendship whilst auditioning for a school production, was transported from Hollywood to Long Sutton over four performances.

As well as parents, grandparents, relatives and friends, the cast put on a special matinee performance for Year 7 students at the Peele and pupils from nearby junior schools last Tuesday.

Teacher Naomi Shaw said: "It was the most well-attended production we've had here for quite some years.

"Students from every year group were involved and as the week went on, each production was better than the one before.

"The cast all grew in confidence and there was really positive feedback from people about how hard the students worked and how much time and effort had gone into the show.

"A lot of students have said they'll be in the next show because High School Musical was so amazing.

"I'm just so proud of all the cast and I really hope they will continue to be part of our shows, making each one better than the previous one."
