Zenfest at Spalding Holistic Hub was a recipe for relaxation

People relaxed, reconnected with themselves, and took time out at a special event in Spalding.

‘Zenfest’ was hosted at Spalding Holistic Hub, next to the Constitutional Club in Broad Street, on Saturday, September 21.

Throughout the day, people were able to find out more about the well-being services run at the centre, including yoga, pregnancy yoga, meditation and more.

They could also receive a relaxing massage or Reiki treatment and listen to talks on well-being, or even have a Tarot Card reading.

Hatha and Yin yoga teacher, Alison Smith, organised ‘Zenfest’ along with Keira Williamson, who teaches pregnancy and postnatal yoga and hypnobirthing at the hub.

The teachers also each gave talks and yoga demos on the day, which ran from 10am until 3pm.

And as the weather was so good, many of the activities took place outdoors.

Alison said: “We were delighted with how it went. We had 12 stall holders and we were busy all day. As it was such a lovely day we took the demos outside. I did a yoga demo with the singing bowls. We were both elated with how it all went. We had so many people through the doors and they were so interested by everything going on.

"People could get an Indian Head Massage, a Reiki treatment or had their Tarot Cards read. Everybody opened themselves to the whole day and many stayed all day. It really was fantastic. It helped raise the profile of the hub and we are able now to purchase more equipment for the hub from the day.

"It was the first time we had ever done a day like this so we were not sure how it would go but everybody got into the whole swing of it."
