Death after report person hit by train in Pinchbeck area this morning




A person has died following an incident with a train in the Pinchbeck area this morning.

Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the scene at Blue Gowt Lane at 3.19am this morning, following reports a person had been struck by a train.

Paramedics also attended, but sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "Officers are currently working to identify them and inform their family.

"The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 03:18 to an incident on Blue Gowt Lane. The caller reported a patient who had been hit by a train. We sent a paramedic in a fast response car and a double crewed ambulance to the scene.

"Police were also on the scene and no patients were taken to hospital."
