'My young rescuers in Spalding were amazing' - Corinne (81)

An elderly woman wants to thank personally the young people who came to her rescue after she tripped in a Spalding car park.

Corinne Sauvage (81), from Market Deeping, is still nursing a painful right hand after her November fall in the Lidl car park and had more X-rays this week.

She fell awkwardly, landing with her hand under her body.

“Four youngsters, they may have been aged about 19 or 20, came to help me and they were totally amazing,” said Corinne. “One of them went to get a chair and some water - they stayed with me for a long time until I was well enough to go home.”

The young people - two men and two women - surprised Corinne further with their kindness, offering to accompany her home.

“They were outstanding,” she said. “Absolutely outstanding.”

Corinne hopes they will give their contact details to the Spalding Guardian so she can thank them.

Her fall happened on November 23. After going home, Corinne went to A&E at Peterborough, and had X-rays at Stamford Hospital a few days later.
