No fuel at Spalding Sainsbury's and Pinchbeck Morrison's filling stations over the weekend
Patchy fuel supplies were seen across garages in South Holland for the second weekend running.
‘No diesel’ signs were placed on the forecourts of Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s filling stations over Saturday while desperate motorists were also putting out social media appeals for locations with fuel.
Long queues were seen outside fuel stations that were stocked up.
Supporters of the FairFuel UK campaign say supplies are ‘patchy ‘ in this area with one in seven garages’ pumps being empty.
The campaign says diesl supplies are worst affected.
They say Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil anti fossil fuel groups are causing disruption to UK’s 37million drivers.
Howard Cox, Founder of FairFuel Campaign says: “What the hell is the Government playing at? Surely, they have learned the lessons of last year’s HGV shortage episode when motorists were queuing to fill up needlessly.
“It’s now more than crucial they act and inform drivers factually what is happening, Priti Patel must order the Police to protect the fuel supply chain and ensure there is no need to panic buy.
“Why is she not becoming more organised and proactive to safeguard uninterrupted petrol and diesel supplies to our forecourts? Gutless, clueless and anti-driver are descriptors that come to mind!”
A Sainsbury's spokesman said: "Some pumps at our Spalding petrol filling station were temporarily closed over the weekend but all sites continue to receive fuel. We continue to routinely monitor all our sites and we’re not seeing any major issues."
