Spalding branch of Parkinson's UK reminds families that help is available

Families and carers of people in South Holland diagnosed with Parkinson's disease are being reminded that support is available in the area.

The Spalding and District branch of Parkinson's UK, the national charity promoting research into the neurological condition, has been unable to holds its monthly meetings in Pinchbeck since March.

But the branch is advising people that a Parkinson's nurse for the area is available on 01775 653220 to give advice during the current lockdown.

Jane Coxon, branch chairman, said: "We're trying to help those who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2020.

"Usually, when they are diagnosed, people are given details of Parkinson's nurses, the charity's helpline and the branch in their area.

"I'm very concerned that people need to know how to access the help available to them.

"The branch is hoping to open up again in 2021, but there's still help available so that people don't fell totally left adrift."

Alternatively, you can contact the Parkinson's UK helpline on 0808 800 0303.
