Overnight A16 closures between Spalding and Crowland to finish next week

Highways chiefs say overnight closures of the A16 between Spalding and Crowland are due to finish next Friday.

The road is shut every weekday from 8pm and 6am while a complete road reconstruction and resurfacing job is being carried out to the road near the Cowbit roundabout.

During those hours, the road is closed between the Applegreen roundabout in Spalding and the James Road/Peterborough Road South roundabout in Crowland.

A complete 'reconstruction and resurfacing' job is being carried out to the A16 in Cowbit.

Highways says the closure begins and ends at those points to allow for HGVs to turn around.

The work to this stretch of the A16 - which opened in 2010 - started last week and is due to end on October 8.
