Coronavirus: Facebook group for Spalding area on ideas to combat boredom and loneliness during the lockdown

A new Facebook community support group for the Spalding area has been set up during the coronavirus lockdown.

Called Operation Isolation, the group has been set up by Gosberton’s Louise O’Connor, who also runs The Beauty Room and Lulu’s in Victoria Street, Spalding.

The group is full of tips and ideas of things to do to help combat boredom and loneliness during time in isolation.

The Operation Isolation group can be found on Facebook.

Louise (26) is also a member of the Spalding COVID Kindness Team. This is a group of volunteers who have stepped forward to help with home deliveries for people struggling to get shopping, medicines and other essentials due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Explaining why she set up the Operation Isolation page, Louise said: "I was personally bored myself and thought what can I do to kill a bit of time and for people to share ideas? A lot of people have really enjoyed it and they have commented on the posts about meal ideas and what to do with left-over food etc."

There are also ideas on the page of activities to do with the children and online concerts and events to enjoy.
