The Priory School, Spalding, has received a jump start towards a new minibus from a group campaigning for better transport links in South Holland.
A donation of just over £100 was received by the school from Spalding and Peterborough Transport Forum chairman George Scott after its Lincolnshire Transport Conference last month.
We thought this would be a worthy cause for us to donate to because it is linked to transport and children.Spalding and Peterborough Transport Forum chairman George Scott
Executive headteacher Daran Bland said: “We are very appreciative of the donation which will go into our Minibus Fundraising Appeal to help keep our minibus on the road or, ideally, to purchase a new one”
The was raised by a raffle at the conference and Mr Scott said: “We heard that The Priory School was looking to raise £30,000 for a new minibus and thought this would be a worthy cause for us to donate to because it is linked to transport and children.
“Thanks to Virgin Trains East Coast and East Midlands Trains, we were able to raffle off tickets donated by these two firms and raise £108 at our frist Lincolnshire Transport Conference.
“We know that the school has quite a bit more money still to raise but we hope this goes some way towards starting the ball rolling.”
