Olympic star Crista Cullen was in Long Sutton at the weekend to give the town’s hockey youngsters a masterclass.
Crista, who won bronze with the GB women’s squad at the London 2012 Olympics, watched Long Sutton men’s first team play on Saturday and then coached the club’s younger players on the Sunday.
She was visiting the club as special guest of club sponsor Flamingo Flowers, of Spalding.
Long Sutton U12s have won the Lincolnshire League the last two seasons and the U14s won last season and were runners-up this time, and 41 of them took part in the session.
Crista put them through their paces for two hours before they had the chance to get her autograph, take photos and admire her bronze medal.
Junior coach John Sullivan said: “She was really down to earth. She approached training from a different angle to our coaches.”
