LETTER: Support our pubs, they’re a part of English culture

Have your say

WE would like to say a huge thank you to Ann-Louise and her staff at The Ship Inn, Surfleet Seas End for the fabulous wedding reception provided for us on July 23.

Many of our local guests were unaware of this gem of a rural public house that offers a warm friendly welcome whenever you visit, even if it’s a bit off the beaten track.

The facilities available make the ideal venue for smaller functions or just a lunch or dinner, using locally sourced food and giving much needed employment to local people.

In this difficult financial climate when we are losing so many of our beautiful pubs I urge people to explore these places and see what they have to offer with reasonable prices and a first class service some larger venues would find difficult to equal.

After all they are part of the English culture and should not be lost to history.
