LETTER: Singing for adults too

Have your say

I was delighted to see that children’s singing for pleasure is alive and well in Spalding (‘Choir is gearing up for Christmas’, Spalding Guardian, September 22).

But of course there are several choirs and singing groups catering for adults, too.

One of them, Voiced Unplugged, invites anyone who wants to sing in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, to join them this autumn.

The group, which has been running for more than ten years, is led by Jane Wells, whose fun approach to teaching unaccompanied harmony songs from a mix of styles is open to newcomer and experienced adult, female and male singers alike. There is no need to be able to read music.

The group has just started its autumn series of Saturday afternoon workshops at the Methodist Church in Broad Street.

Next session is from 2.30pm-4.30pm on October 1. Tickets, at £4, are available from the South Holland Centre, just a few minutes’ walk away.

Other dates this season are October 15 (at the South Holland Centre), November 5, November 19 and December 3.

It’s great fun!
