World champion stuntman Eddie Kidd rode into Spalding to thrill onlookers with a seven car leap in the summer of 1979.

Eddie completed the jaw-dropping stunt at the Castle Playing Field in front of a crowd of 5,000 - with yards still to spare on his Honda 250 jump bike.

Sadly, the international stuntman was paralysed and suffered brain damage following an accident in 1996.

In June 2012 he was made an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
