Raft race makes £3,000

Hard graft and getting wet proved to be well worth it for the people of Crowland.

The first Crowland Raft Race raised £3,000 for charity, with South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes a guest at The Olde Bridge Inn as cheques for £1,500 were presented to Male Testicular Cancer Research and Crowland Defibrillator Fund.

Organiser Kathleen Winter-Hill said: "It was very successful".
