Initiative to tackle Pinchbeck speeders
A new initiative will be helping to tackle speeders through a South Holland village.
Pinchbeck Parish Council will be installing a number of static 30mph and 40mph signs across the village in a bid to encourage irresponsible motorists to obey the speed limit.
The parish council has already has an interactive speed camera capturing data of all
vehicles passing along Spalding Road.
Chairman James Avery said: “Evidence suggests this type of repeater signage has a positive impact in reducing speeding.
“We may only be a parish council, but we punch above our weight on matters that
affect the safety and wellbeing of our residents.
“We plan to share the data we capture with the appropriate authorities,
enabling them to engage with us for the purpose of implementing further measures to reduce speeding.”
A number of concerns have been raised about the amount and speed of traffic in the Pinchbeck area in recent months.
