Pupils picked up important life skills and tried a host of new experiences during an action-packed ‘enrichment week’.

University Academy Holbeach put on trips and experiences for students in the first week of July.

Head of performing arts Sam Graper said: “There was a vast range of events for pupils to participate in and it was really exciting to see the school buzzing with the enthusiastic atmosphere.”

She added: “The whole event was extremely successful, with pupils clearly engaged in the different activities provided for them.

"They were required to draw on creativity, independence, resilience, curiosity and imagination as they partook in the different tasks and it is hoped that the memories that they made this week will stay with them for a long time.”

Activities included First Aid training, sessions on British Sign Language, a talk from Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, orienteering, stage make up and costume design, a junk band workshop from Act II, and an international day, where pupils explored the language and culture of different countries including Nigeria, Thailand and Germany.
