CHANGES to the opening hours at recycling centres in Spalding and Bourne come into effect on Sunday.
Under the changes, Spalding’s centre, which is currently available seven days a week, will open an hour later at 9am, close at 4pm and lose its Friday late nights until 6pm.
Bourne’s centre is hardest hit, going from seven days to just Friday to Monday. It will also open an hour later at 9am, closing at 4pm as before, but loses the two extra hours on a Friday night.
All sites will be open on Bank Holidays, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Saturday morning supplementary waste services in Donington, Holbeach, Crowland, Gedney Hill, Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge will continue.
Lincolnshire County Council says cuts have been needed at the county’s 13 recycling centres because it had to make £1.215million savings in this financial year. However, there had not been a need to close any.
