A new ladies’ choir for South Holland is giving its first ever concert in Crowland on Sunday (7pm).
The Mirinesse Singers (old English for ‘joyful women’) is to perform at Crowland Abbey.
Sam Wray founded the choir, which sings a range of music, from music by 12th century nun Hildegard of Bingen to modern sacred and secular music.
The choir has been singing together since October, but Sam says the sound it is making is “developing beautifully”.
The concert’s programme includes Ave Generosa by Hildegard, medieval carols, music from Piae Cantiones and by Rutter, Wilcox and Britten.
Entry is free and there is a retiring collection.
