A new chairman of South Holland District Council has been appointed for the year ahead, with Coun Michael Seymour returning to the role.
Coun Seymour (Conservative, The Saints ward) was previously chairman between 2011 and 2013 and takes up the post following his election at a full council meeting at Priory Road on Wednesday.
Coun Seymour said: “It is a great honour and something I’m tremendously looking forward to.
“Having previously been chairman a few years ago I know precisely what I’ll be letting myself in for!
“My diary is already looking a lot busier with invites starting to come in. Last time I enjoyed getting out to various events all over the district, so that’s an aspect of the job I’m looking forward to.”
Coun Rodney Grocock will continue in his role as vice-chairman of the authority for another 12 months.
Coun Seymour added: “I think it helps that Rodney is already in place as and has good experience of the role.
“I’m sure that we can use our combined experience and work well as a partnership.”
