LEARN MOREResidents of Whaplode Drove have a new space to take the weight off their feet thanks to the help of two district councillors.
Couns Paul Redgate and Allan Beal, of Whaplode and Holbeach St Johns ward, have donated a replacement of the bench given to the village for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977.
Coun Redgate said: “We are pleased to be able to do this for the community. It was in a state of disrepair and is outside the Post Office and is a prime place for people to now sit and chat.
"It’s nice to do something positive locally which will provide a further lasting legacy.
"We are both there to support the community through our designated ward budgets and look tirelessly for ways to assist.”
