LINCOLNSHIRE Police has joined with four neighbouring forces in a crime-fighting alliance that aims to save £26million in four years.

On Monday the county agreed to combine with Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire to tackle major crimes such as murder, manslaughter and kidnap.

The new force will be known as East Midlands Special Operations Unit – Major Crime (EMSOU-MC).
