New speed limit for Whaplode and Weston A151 will be in place in 3 to 6 months




A new speed limit for the A151 is due to be in place within the next six months.

Lincolnshire County Council has agreed to lower the speed limits between Whaplode and Weston to improve safety on the road following a series of crashes.

Last year Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership requested the reduction after six serious and 15 slight reported injury accidents have occurred along the stretch of the A151 over the past five years.

The stretch between Weston and Moulton from 60pmh to 50mph as a result of this new plan and the section between Moulton and Whaplode will drop from 50mph to 40mph.

A county council spokesman said that they will be installing new vehicle activated signage will be installed at the same time and the new limit should be in place in the next three to six months.
