Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Holbeach is presenting an exciting new video and discussion course which will attempt to state what Christians really mean by “God”.
Entitled “The Mystery of God”, the course starts on Wednesday, May 18 at 7.30pm in the church hall at Foxes Low Road and runs for six illuminating sessions.
Atheism is on the rise. Sceptical thinkers like Richard Dawkins, the late Christopher Hitchens, and Stephen Fry vigorously attack belief in God as irrational or dangerous. The so-called New Atheism has attracted millions of young people thanks to bestselling books such as The God Delusion and God Is Not Great.
How should Christians respond? How can the tide of secularism be turned and people enabled to discover or return to God?
The videos, presented by world famous Catholic evangelist, Bishop Robert Barron, reach into the rich intellectual tradition of the Church, using the insights of St Augustine, St Thomas Aquinas, Pope Benedict XVI etc, uncovering a clear, yet sophisticated understanding of what the Church means by “God”. Who is God? And why does He matter?
“The Mystery of God” will provide the answers to why Christianity has survived 2,000 years and is an essential tool to those looking for answers or people who no longer believe.
Admission is free and tea and coffee will be served.
