A 28-year-old Surfleet girl has thanked the charities who have given her something to live for by taking part in a sponsored headshave.
Vicky Smith has raised more than £414 for Mind, Central German Shepherd Rescue and Spalding and District Cat Protection.
The sponsored headshave took place at Oasis Beauty, Hair and Day Spa in Spalding.
Vicky said: “Each of the charities are close to my heart.
“Mind has been there to guide and support me through some really difficult times when I felt completely lost and alone.
“They made me realise I have something to offer the world and that I matter as a person.”

Central German Shepherd Rescue also changed Vicky’s life by letting her adopt a German Shepherd cross puppy called Jodie.
She said: “Jodie encourages me daily to get out of the house and face the world and she never judges me.
“For someone with mental illness this is an extremely valued thing to have.
“When I feel I can’t go on she brings light back into my life.”
Adopting a cat called Mia from Spalding and District Cat Protection has also given her a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
Vicky said: “Mia constantly reminds me I am not alone. Her love and loyalty makes my life so much better.
“These charities mean the world to me. I’m thrilled to have raised so much for them. It’s just remarkable.”
