Musician to record an Extended Play in Austria

A musician will be travelling with his band to Austria later this month to record an Extended Play.

BIMM Institute London graduate, Henry Birkett, of Weston Hills, will be travelling to Mürzzuschlag, Austria to record 6 original songs for their new Extended Play.

His band, Henry Birkett and the biscuit band, will be in Austria from Monday 13th to Monday 27th September working on the recordings.

Henry said: "The thing I’m looking forward to most is definitely the making and production of the songs.

"I can’t wait to hear the transformation from playing live to a recording.

"An interesting point of the EP recording is that it will be 'bounced down' onto reel to reel magnetic tape; effectively a hybrid of modern and 70s recording techniques."

The band is travelling to Austria to record their songs, as one of Henry's friends from university, and is giving the band a good deal with the cost of the recording.

Henry added:"I’ve also got a gig booked in Vienna performing the whole EP."

To help fund the trip, Henry has been restoring classic cars and them selling them on, a skill he says he has learnt from his dad who has been selling tractors for more than 30 years.

Henry hopes that the recordings will be ready to be released in Spring 2022.
