A regular column from South Holland Centre in Spalding.
Music in the Market Place is a fun and fabulous mini-Festival taking place on Friday, August 7 in Spalding Market Place from noon until 5pm.
The day will be filled with music by ten young music acts from around Spalding and the wider Lincolnshire area.
Plus this year there will be the opportunity to get involved with Jestival, a community circus company who will be brightening up the streets with workshops and street entertainment.
Join in with Jestival’s outdoor workshops to try your hand at juggling, diablo, poi, spinning plates and walking the tight-wire. Fun for all ages and abilities.
Boston College will be back this year with their free photo booth. Enter at will, pose with props and costume, and catch a snap of the results!
This year also marks the first appearance of the South Holland Centre Street Dance group who now train regularly at the venue. Catch their performance around lunchtime.
Youth Takeover made the decision to hold their first Music in the Market Place in 2012 and had no idea it would be such a success.
With the support of the community, Youth Takeover have built this mini-Festival afternoon into a great annual occasion in which local young people take the lead running the event management: from booking and managing the bands on the day, to keeping an eye on the finances!
Please come along, say hello and enjoy a great afternoon’s FREE entertainment.
