Members of all seven Handful of Harmonies ladies choirs made the most of a ‘Winter Wonderland wedding’ in a marquee in West Deeping by staging a fundraising concert the following day.
Along with a selection of local musical talent they staged ‘Music at the Manor’. Music director Andrew Clingo managed the committee who had pulled out all the stops to arrange sponsorship for the programme, raffle, refreshments as well as the performers and to sell tickets.
The wedding was the daughter of one of the members who kindly offered the use of the exquisitely decorated marquee for the use by the choir before it was dismantled on the Monday. So a venue with ‘snow’ covered Christmas trees, candlelit and flowers entertained 350 guests with a variety of seasonal music and raised £9,287 for Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.
Thorpe Hall was chosen as it has a catchment area
extending to Spalding and Holbeach.
