A Lego cup was the perfect reward for pupils at Moulton Chapel Primary School.

The cup was presented to the school after pupils from the Lego Club won first for their research project in the regional element of the FIRST LEGO League.

Anthony Warner, who runs the Lego Club, says the children came fifth overall, competing against pupils from much larger schools in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.

He said: “We have always used Lego at school. If we do any activity in school where we use Lego they are always dead keen to use it. We use it for role play for the older children.”

Anthony says the Lego Club was formed in September so that they could enter the competition, sponsored by Perkins Engines at Peterborough, where the competition was held.

FIRST LEGO League introduces young people aged 9 to 14 to the fun and excitement of science and technology.

For the project, the youngsters designed some futuristic glasses to help them learn maths. Anthony says they carried out research and built a prototype. Pupils not present for the photograph were Keiran Swift and Edie Taylor.
