A whopping three million bunches of daffodils grown in Moulton Chapel brightened up people’s homes over the Easter weekend.
That’s 60 million individual stems grown by Colin Martin, of K Martin & Son. Colin (pictured above) has been growing the traditional flower for the supermarket chain Asda for six years, although the business has been producing daffodils for 40 years. He said: “Daffodils are a spring time favourite as well as the traditional Easter bouquet, and with the UK being the largest producer of daffodils, we’re pleased to see that Brits are embracing their horticultural heritage. It’s good news for British growers.”
