Motorists have been reporting heavy traffic around Spalding and Pinchbeck today - with major roadworks and a perennial tip problem to blame.

Drivers are facing significant delays heading along Spalding Road/Pinchbeck Road - with temporary traffic lights in place and an 11-week closure of the Enterprise Way junction beginning today.

The now-regular sight of long queues heading into the Spalding Household Waste and Recycling Centre in West Marsh Road has also been seen today - with motorists seen driving on the wrong side of the road toward oncoming traffic to try to get past the vehicles heading into the tip.

The A16 is particularly busy right around Spalding this lunch time - with tailbacks between the McDonald's and B1180 roundabouts and on the A151 approaching Spalding.

The two A16 roundabouts are due for 'levelling up' works in a bid to ease long-standing congestion issues.

The Enterprise Way closure is part of work on the Spalding Western Relief Road - which will connection to Spalding Road via a new roundabout.
