Friends of Long Sutton Primary celebrate amazing Christmas fair

Friends of Long Sutton Primary School are celebrating an amazing £2,300-plus profit from their Christmas Fair.

The money will be used to buy additional educational resources not covered by school budgets as well as special treats for the children.

Friends secretary Hannah Billinghurst said: "The sum raised is definitely up on last year and it's the most raised at a Christmas fair in the time I have been with the school and that's four years."

As well as a selection of stalls and tombolas, children had the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and there was a present-buying station where youngsters could find the perfect give for parents ... and get a little help with the gift wrapping.

Hannah, who organised the event with Friends' treasurer Bridget Manning, said there was a great atmosphere on the night.

She said: "The highlight was everyone being together - we had Christmas music playing and it felt really festive. It was the first time this year that I felt Christmassy."

It's believed more than 300 people attended the fair.

Funds from the friends have helped to bring a Christmas panto to school and have paid for the setting up of book corners in the classrooms.
